Acupuncture

In 40 years of existence, the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS) has developed more than a hundred effective and proven protocols for various ailments and pathologies, including the following:

RHEUMATOLOGY: muscle and joint pain, arthritic pain of the spine and peripheral joints, various tendinitis, hip-shoulder periarthritis, stiff neck, lumbago, sciatica, after-effects of sprains, TMJ dysfunction, bruxism, clenching, etc.

GASTROENTEROLOGY: functional digestive disorders, constipation-diarrhea-spasmodic colitis, nausea, bloating, GERD, hemorrhoids.

PNEUMOLOGY: bronchitis – chronic bronchitis – certain asthmas – shortness of breath – chronic cough

DERMATOLOGY: shingles (if treated within 72 hours) and post-shingles pain.

ENT: tinnitus (50% success), some vertigo, otitis, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, aphonia, eczema of the external auditory canal.

SMOKING CESSATION in 3 sessions.

URO-GYNAECOLOGY: hot flashes, irregular cycle, menstrual pain, mastosis, cystalgia with clear urine, some urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction-premature ejaculation-libido, pelvic pain (puddendal nerve).

PREGNANCY MONITORING: sciatica, back pain, nausea, constipation, baby blues.

SURGERY AID: pre-op preparation: stress-anxiety, post-op fatigue-recovery, post-op stiffness, scar and healing.

STOMATOLOGY: dental pain, post-extraction pain relief, swelling and inflammation.

CIRCULATORY DISORDERS: restless legs syndrome +++, Raynaud’s syndrome (long-term treatment)

CANCER: monitoring during chemo – effects on nausea and fatigue.

Course of sessions and follow-up

duration of the session: 15 to 30 min
acute cases: 2-3 sessions per week
chronic cases: generally 1 session per week
 
duration of treatment: on average 6 to 12 sessions, generally 1x per week.
 
maintenance and preventive treatment: 1 session every 1 to 6 months depending on the case.
